August 29th...

It's been the longest-running (and most frustrating) job I've ever had. With that said, a part of me has grown partial to it...and protective of it.

It seems so insignificant an occurrence now that I'm only there on Sundays but...

Today marks my five-year anniversary working at the arts-and-crafts store!

Now that I'm working full-time at my university job(s), I don't think I'll stay at the store much longer though.

Our latest assistant store manager is being sent to another store this week and the rumor is our store manager will be transferred at the start of the new year.

Soon it will be my time to go too.

But for now…Happy Anniversary, crafts store!!

You've met some nice people there, it seems — people who like you, judging by the nice things they've done for you. It does seem that it would make sense to leave sometime fairly soon, but I'm sure you'll carry the good memories with you much longer than the frustrations.

naturgesetz!

You're right about that.

I'll probably wait until the holidays are over and put in my two weeks at the start of the new year.

We shall see.

Anniversaries are wonderful things. They give us opportunities to reflect on our lives and appreciate the grace that has come out way, the things we've accomplished, the people we cherish and even, sometimes, a reminder of the things we want to change. But it's all good. It's all the "kinetic" material that makes up who we are. Congratulations, my friend! ps ~ I sent you another postcard on the morning that your gift arrived...how wonderfully coincidental.
