"You rise like a wave in the ocean
And you fall gently back to the sea
Now I want to know how to hold you
Return to me
Return to me
Return to me.
You shine like the moon over water
And you darken the sky when you leave
Now I want to know how to keep you
Return to me
Return to me
Return to me
Turn to me
Return to me.
Return to me.
Everything I tell you has been spoken
And everything I say was said before
But everything I feel is for the first time
And everything I feel, I feel for you.
I am here calling the wind
I am here calling your name
I am here calling you back
Return to me
Return to me.
Return to me.
I know what it means to be lonely
And I know what it means to be free
Now I want to know how to love you
Return to me
Return to me.
Return to me.
I am here calling the wind
I am here calling your name
I am here calling you back
Return to me
Return to me.
Return to me.
I am here
Return to me."

Beautiful song, but it feels to me like we hear only one side of the story, her version.
So here I propose to complete the story with his version. :D
Every time she calls for him
He’s storming his way to see her.
But the moment he approaches
she holds back
and closes herself in fear.
And it kills him to see her suffering like that.
So he retreats and opens a path for her to follow,
a path with love scent,
waiting for her in the middle,
waiting for her to open and step on the path -
a step that she never makes.
And he cannot wait for too long,
for the middle place, without her warmth, freezes his wings
and shreds his chest.
And so, he leaves again, hoping to hear her next call.
Their love always shared, never fulfilled.

well, there you have at least one version... I wonder if this is emotionally charged enough to inspire you to paint it...
Or I have to try harder :)

Thank you for your side of this song!
I always thought the original lyrics weren't gender specific and could be about anyone, man or woman.
But I've been working on an art project recently about someone I used to talk to several years ago.
The words in this song are things I feel and want to say to him. Since I no longer hear from him anymore, I decided to share the song on my blog instead.
Thanks again!

Oh, Dean. I see... You shouldn't have published my comment. You can remove it if you want. I really don't mind. I thought it was a generic way to generate artistic energy for your projects.
On relationship level, I know men are not the best communicators, but if a guy wouldn't keep in touch for that long, maybe he is not worth investing any energy. I guess you've heard it already, so that's all I'm saying
Lovely song, Dean.

No worries. Your heart was in the right place and that's all that matters. :)

I never heard of Stars before.
Thanks for the link! I've been listening to a few of their songs on YouTube now because of you.
