Pressed flowers…by mail!

Look what waited in my P.O. Box from fellow blogger, Randy.

Normally he sends out poetry cards from his favorite poets.

But last week I got this…..

Pressed pansies from his garden!

This made me smile upon opening it.

It was so simple, unexpected, and lovely.

Thank you, sir. Your small gesture brightened my day!

I love snail mail, and this is just beautiful. I wonder how he pressed them? If I tried, I'd probably break them apart. *grins* Lovely colors!

Go forth and do likewise... Be the grace you seek and grace will be your portion. It's so much more obvious and pedestrian than some would have us all believe. Peace and Joy L'il Bro'.

Sonnia!

Perhaps Randy can offer some pointers on how he did it?

I'm actually surprised how vibrant the colors were still.

Not every flower works, but pansies, (violas, violets are particularly well suited to this) Place them face down of a piece of paper towel for that the petals are not wrinkled. Gently place another paper towel on top, like a pansy sandwich and them slowly place a heavy book or books on top. After a couple of hours I careful move them (still between the two piece of paper towel to the interior pages of book and add more books to the top to firmly press. Two weeks later, voila--ready to go.
