34 into 35.

I woke up today feeling sad, disappointed, and like a failure.

That can only mean one thing. My birthday is here!

I officially hit the mid-decade mark and turn 35-years old.

There are only three real things I want this year as I turn older:  to finally live on my own, get a better job and leave the crafts store behind, and to date a wonderful man.

Almost five months into the current year and it's not looking promising so far.

And at my age, I should be much farther along in life than I am.

But thankfully I had to work both of my jobs today in the morning and at night which kept me distracted.

I just got home a little while ago and this depressing day will be over in a matter of minutes.

Thank goodness!

One can't belatedly wish you a happy birthday after that post, but I do wish you a good year to follow it and many happy birthdays as the years continue.

Happy birthday, Dean! You're incredibly hardworking, caring, creative, and that's just the start of the shopping list of great attributes about you. Definitely not the mark of a failure. Any man would be thrilled to have a wonderful man like you. Wish you all the best for this year!

Please, don't beat yourself up about any of things you're "missing"!

It only occurred to me recently that we only feel like failures because we have an old, outdated, system of "progress" that we look at, a system of our grandparents, passed to us through our parents, but times have changed and those things are no longer viable the same way they've been acquired 40 and 60 years ago!

You're working[a job you don't loathe, yes?], you're healthy, you're kind and creative and thoughtful - It might be small solace, but I think you're doing *just*fine*!

"Any man would be thrilled to have a wonderful man like you."

If that were really true, Brody, then I still wouldn't be single, now would I?

:(

Konkbonckles!

I'm not sure. There's SO much more I want out of life than I currently have/am experiencing.

And I fear it'll always be this way.

Everyone's celebratory comments are greatly appreciated!!

O, Oh! Another guy coming by with a belated wish. Here goes anyway!

H*A*P*P*Y B*I*R*T*H*D*A*Y DEAN!

Hope you are feeling more pleased with yourself today. Birthdays can be great but they do have a tendency to make a person look back and at the future as well. You did that, now you can concentrate on today and with hope in your heart look forward to good things coming your way. I'll say it again...Cheering for you buddy. ♥
