I turned 33 yesterday.
It rained off and on most of the day (which I loved), I worked both my jobs, and I had a bit of a sore throat which was annoying.
My new baby!
One of my coworkers at the crafts store bought me an orchid plant and cupcakes. And one of my student workers at my university job baked red velvet cupcakes for me! I even got voicemails from both of my aunts.
It made me feel very special. I haven't felt that way in many months and it helped soften the birthday blues.
One day I do believe I'll actually celebrate my birthday instead of loathing it and it making me sad.
In time.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have several kinds of cake to eat!

Belated wishes for a Happy Birthday (which seem to have worked, LOL). And may you have many happy returns of the day.
Enjoy the several kinds of cake.
Happy Belated Birthday, Dean!!!
Save me a slice!!!
Over here in Britain, the day after Christmas day, we call 'boxing day'.
Well, Happy birthday boxing day Dean! x
Belated Happy Birthday! though late but I hope it adds on your happy moments. More blessing
BTW, I followed you and hoping you do the same with my blog. Thanks
Dean, First of all, Happy (late) Birthday!
Second, I want to tell you that 33 was a really good year for me. I had been making a living, but hadn't been able to save money in my twenties, so at 30, I made some changes. Right around 33 is when I really started to turn a corner. I got out of debt and was able to start saving in earnest, and started to be able to do more just for my own enjoyment. A couple of years later, I visited Ireland and was more able to do little trips here and there (including to your own fair city!).
I'm saying this to let you know that in your thirties, you really start to come into your own. There's a confidence and independence that comes along and really makes you your own person in a way that isn't quite present in your twenties.
I think this is really your time, and that you will see some great things in the days to come. Happy, happy 33!
Happy Belated Birthday :)) Here's to inner peace, happiness and joy.
Oh yummo and gorgeous-o! This flower is so darn pretty.
I hope that you will soon be at the point where you celebrate your day. That we we can all celebrate you AND with you! Happy Birthday Dean!

33, sounds lucky, hope you had a great day and have a great year.
Well not everyone thought he was "allowed" to remember your BD, ah but he did. Hugs and an Ass Slap from abroad (no not a woman). J&S
I do not celebrate birthdays, but I wish the very best for your new year!
Also, sorry to hear that you have not felt very special, because you truly are.
Ken!
My aunt told me she was 33 when I was born.
Who knows what that means for me or my aunt. I guess we'll find out as the year rolls on!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Guess who LOL!
Why wouldn't you be "allowed"? That sounds like Sam's doing, not mine.
In any case, thank you for remembering and for commenting here. I appreciate it, Mr. Tuxedo!
(I'll pass your other message along to DKS as well).
Thombeau!
Thanks for that, Thom!
Well, Dean, I guess this brings a whole new meaning to a 'belated' greeting. Yes, I am late, real late, but sending along a HAPPY BIRTHDAY greeting anyway. See, 33 ain't that old, you're a youngin! By the way, love the Orchid; and cupcakes as well, you lucked out that day.
{{{HUGS}}} to you my friend.
Happy belated. Have fun in Seattle. :)
Stan!
(((HUGS))) back at you, good sir!
