It's almost like a dream. Like I never left Chicago.
I'm home now and after getting back from my returning flight this evening, I have to keep telling myself that my time in Lexington was very REAL.
I got to meet my budding boyfriend's coworkers, his friends and members of the community. We explored the city, cooked for each other, and he even taught me how to play pool at a dive bar late into the night!
We still have things we both need to work on but now we can face those things together.
It seems like a world away in Kentucky. A place to escape my troubles for a bit. Nothing else matters when I'm in his arms and just knowing he's waiting for me is enough. No wonder I wish I never left there.
One day--when the time is right--I won't.
Until then, my southern honey.....

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh...that's nice and very apropos for the holidays. I've been with family for the holidays, but many of them are gone. I've been with friends but I've moved to several different places since. I've been married but divorced years ago. I had my son but thanksgiving is our official holiday time together. I had a partner. When he left I didn't have anyone and I was alone. Then, about 5 years ago this January I met Jason and I wasn't alone anymore.
Yeah, holidays are better when you're with someone you love and who loves you back.
Awww <3
***swooning*** (for you)
how wonderful you got to spend time together I hope one day you never have to be apart. this just made me smile and warmed my heart. would it offend you if I did the whole "aw aren't cute together thing" in my motherly voice. sorry couldn't help it :)
Oh, it's soooooooooooo nice to hear you happy. I'm glad it was a good trip. I would have loved to see you playing pool in the dive bar. As a matter of fact, that's where I fell in love as well...
:-)
Awwwww, I'm so happy for you. You really are going to get your happy ending.
"Together", says so much doesn't it?! Love your post.
Glad the weekend went well. I hope all continues happily!

"Ending" sounds so final. I'll settle for "happy ongoing relationship" instead.

So glad that you have been able to make a second trip. Hopefully there is a third and maybe more permanent trip in your future.
Ken!
Here's to hoping!

Robson!
I understand.
There's nothing to be jealous of though. He and I broke up six months ago and it's over now.
Now it's time to try again and see what awaits me.....
