Tragic love story, lives cut short, moving music, and lots of pirouettes!
I went to see the Broadway musical West Side Story this past weekend after work (by myself, naturally). All of the songs are stuck in my head but that's NOT a bad thing.
Even though I thoroughly enjoyed it, it made me wish my name was Maria and that some guy would want to marry me after a big rumble with rival gang members. Okay, you know what I mean.
So you'll have to forgive me, I'm all lovey-dovey at the moment.
*soft sigh*

Who knows?
It's only just out of reach,
Down the block, on a beach,
Under a tree.
I got a feeling there's a miracle due,
Gonna come true,
Coming to me!
Could it be? Yes, it could.
Something's coming, something good,
If I can wait!
Something's coming, I don't know what it is,
But it is
Gonna be great! "
Glad to hear you done that, Dean. Hope the goodness stays with you for a good while!
It's interesting. Myself, I always wanted to be Tony... or maybe Anita! What an amazing show. Glad you enjoyed it.
Lovey dovey is good. No excuses needed
I would have totally gone to the theatre with you!
I would have stood up in the aisles and danced when they sang, "I want to be in A-MER-I-CA." I would have snapped my fingers with Jets v Sharks!!
I'm so glad you went to see it. Now, if Billy Elliot is still playing there, that has to be your next show!!
I feel pretty, oh so pretty...
I love going to musicals, out here we have the Boulder Dinner Theater which is just the coolest venue, the minor characters are also the ones waiting tables and it's small and they interact a lot with the audience while still being really well done and professional. At this point I've seen Cabaret, Cats, and Peter Pan there (over like, the last 10 years) and totally wish I could just been one of those people that holds the yearly passes to see ALL the productions!
I love the picture. And, yes, that movie gets me going too. Rita Moreno is amazing!
I'll fight anyone for you. But my toughest opponent is most likely myself.
I bet it was amazing.
Love the photograph of your hand. Good lighting.
Phoenix!

Marty!
How unique that the minor characters wait on tables and star in the actual play!

I haven't seen the movie since I was a child and totally forgot how it ended so when I saw the play this past weekend it really hit me!

I was in elementary school when West Side Story was released as a movie. I cried when the sang, "There's a place for us, Somewhere a place for us..." It was a deep movie.
Dean!
Deep indeed!
