cool shots Dean! I love that one where all the tulips are leaning. Also neat to see the (angel?) statue and the tulips behind it.

Winter!

Yay!

i_lk_me!

Early-mid April is the perfect time to visit! The weather is still mild and the tourists haven't overtaken the city yet.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ekan!
Aren't they though?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mona!

The statue is of a wood nymph. During the summer, flowering vines climb up her base and overtake her torso! So cool!

Here's an older blogpost where I sketched the statue and talk more about it:

Michael!

Glad you like them!

naturgesetz!

The city plants tulips EVERYWHERE in the main downtown areas here in Chicago. I just had to see them bloom this year!

Thanks to all of you for taking a look at my pics!

Beautiful Dean, Tulips have faded in DC weeks ago now, even the azaleas are heading into memory....and it's not even May. Climate change? Duh!

Some years, the tulips downtown look more impressive and fuller than others.
