Pen and ink on bristol paper - 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" (SOLD)
I haven't made one of these in a while.
Normally you don't come across Nudes done as an ACEO. I was up for the challenge and here's what came of it.
Because of the art card's small dimensions I couldn't include the entire figure. But I think the cropped torso is visually more interesting this way. Don't you agree?
The main goal was to have a nice balance of light and darks to make the muscles and form 'pop'.
The striped border around the image adds a little extra touch.
Quick, fun, and painless!

That is talent! All that detail on paper/cardstock of such small dimensions! ;)
Very nicely executed drawing of a very nice torso if I do say so myself...;).
Very nice! Yep. Very, very nice...
I like the striped border. It could also be interpreted as a bar code, which of course gives the piece a whole different meaning. (Isn't art great!?)
Once again, very very nice Dean. Yep.
Yep.
:-)
Meeko Fabulous!

Why do I get the feeling all three of you were blushing as you left me your wonderful comments?
I appreciate them though!

I was most definitely blushing! ;)
Meeko Fabulous!
I knew it! Haha!
I'm taking that as a sweet compliment!

Great job on this in such a small space! Good luck on the auction!
Very nice Dean! I'm sorry about your job. Maybe this door closing will lead to other doors opening up for you. Silver lining is that perhaps we'll be lucky enough to see more of your art!
Akiko!
Thanks!

Sheila!
Yeah, I was thinking that being laid off will allow me more time to draw and paint. That's something, right?

I appreciate you both stopping by!

Guess you're being facetious with the "subtle" comment.
Bill!
Perhaps!

My son worked part-time the summer after his Freshman year in an all female department at my old job. His co-workers LOVED the life-size male torso sketch but were disappointed it stopped at the pubes.
Dean!
I guess they just had to use their imagination for the rest of it.
:P
